Cocktail Swap

Here is swap I just joined. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=465159 and these are the recipe cards I made. I was trying to make them look like matchbooks that you may have picked up in a piano bar.

The first and the last card are both done with the Medallion stamp. The second card used Flight Of The Butterflies and the 3rd is Inspired By Nature. All paper, ink, stamps and accessories are by Stampin' Up!

Motorcycle Pop-up Card Update

Here is an up date on the Born To Ride cards... I had a request for 6 cards so instead of putting each card in an individual sleeve I made a matching box for them. Cool, eh?

Toronto Paper Place Shopping Trip

Yesterday I had the opportunity to go to The Paper Place on Queen St West in Toronto. http://www.thepaperplace.ca/ Had a lovely time and feel so creative and energized now.

The first picture shows a box of paper clips which are shaped like a bird. The second shows the clip on paper. Isn't it gorgeous?! There are other animals too like squirrels, whales, dogs, rabbits, penguin, elephant, horse, alligator, cow, pig, turtle, duck, cat and dolphin. They come in a box of 30 for about $9.95 or you can by them individually for $0.50 each, which is great if you want one of each for a paper clip menagerie.

The 3rd shot is of a sheet of paper which has paper birds sewn on. There is a similar paper with butterflies. I wish I got both.

I also got a kit to make glass and paper pendants to hang on necklaces. The kit has enough to make 5. I'll post later when the are created.

Motorcycle Pop-up Card

I finally got this card done. It took months and I couldn't have done it without my friend Ina. First I got a request for a motorcycle card, so I looked on Ebay and found a rubber stamp and sent for it. In the mean time Ina has the retired set Born To Ride from Stampin' Up so she sent me the born to ride image. Then I received the motorcycle stamp from Ebay only to find it is not like the image but half in silhouette. I sent back my stamp to them and they sent me a new one which was unmounted AND more of a silhouette then the first. *sigh* But then Ina comes to the rescue and sends me motorcycle images so I can finish the cards.

I used pumpkin pie, basic black and whisper white card stock. A crimper and a punch were my tools. The accessory is jewellery wire which was wrapped around the crimped black paper.

So, there you have it, the card that took almost 2 months to make.

Return Postage Holder

Here is one of 10 return postage holders I made for a swap. The technique used is faux postage. The template for it is here: http://images.splitcoaststampers.com/data/ee/images/tutorials/fauxpostage3x2.44c_.pdf I cut out the centre of 6 stamps to use over what I was stamping since the rubber stamp I used is bigger than the space stamped. I used the template again when I sponged creamy carmel over top.

The stamp set used is the retired set Classic Sketches from Stampin' Up!.

Ink used is basic black and creamy caramel.

Paper used is basic black, whisper white, real red, and creamy caramel.
